I'm rationalizing this as a list of my favorites, which isn't necessarily a list of the "best" albums. Basically, which ones would I take to a desert island with me? Alas, there are probably some albums out there that I would love... but they just didn't make it into my hands this year. Like Sissyneck, I'm not including soundtracks, compilations, and live albums. Though, if you want some recommendations on that front, check out the I'm Not There soundtrack and the Elliott Smith New Moon double disc.

just wondering how many new albums you picked up this year to come up with a top 25 list. if that's the top 25 albums out of 30, that aint' sayin' much. just getting into jens lekman and feist myself...
Heh. Pretty much all of them that I have are on my list. (laaaame) I pretty much do an annual ranking anyway, so I just posted it here, too.
There were a number of other 2007 albums that my roommates and co-workers got, plus stuff I sampled at the record stores, that I listened to, but they didn't leave enough of impression for me to get them. I guess I tasted maybe 50 total, bought about 25, and ranked those.
